Having a prophetic vision requires, that we are constantly looking unto Jesus (as the writer to the Hebrews tells us in Hebrews 12:2), who is the author and the perfecter of our faith. The only way I can have faith for the unknown future is to have faith in the Jesus I have come to know. There is no faith for the future apart from faith in Jesus!
